Get to know Anna!

Anna LaChapelle grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where she began to take dance and gymnastic classes at a very early age. Anna pursued a career as a competitive gymnast, before discovering her passion and love for dance at 12. Making the choice to altar-course, she began seriously pursuing dance, being accepted into a daytime training program for pre-professional ballet dancers. While in the program, Anna had the opportunity to compete in ballet competitions such as YAGP, UBC, and NYCDA, earning placements in the top twelve along with scholarships for summer intensives. Anna has attended the Rock Schools summer intensive, as well as the Étoile Ballet Theatre in Piacenza, Italy where she was offered a contract with the company. Over her years in the pre-professional program, Anna has worked with artists such as Duncan Cooper, Lauren Anderson, Kevin Tate, Wes Chapman, Adam Sklute, and Alexandra Damiani.

Teaching throughout her years as a dancer, Anna cultivated a genuine love for sharing the art and training younger dancers. She has taught at the Royal Dance Academy, Ballet Etobicoke, The National Ballet School of Canada, and InStudio at NBoC. Anna is currently entering her last of 3 years in the National Ballet School of Canada’s Teacher Training Program. She will graduate the program with her registered teaching status (RTS) from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).
